Ash-Shams

[ID] Demi matahari dan cahayanya di pagi hari,

[EN] By the sun and its brightness

[ID] dan bulan apabila mengiringinya,

[EN] And [by] the moon when it follows it

[ID] dan siang apabila menampakkannya,

[EN] And [by] the day when it displays it

[ID] dan malam apabila menutupinya,

[EN] And [by] the night when it covers it

[ID] dan langit serta pembinaannya,

[EN] And [by] the sky and He who constructed it

[ID] dan bumi serta penghamparannya,

[EN] And [by] the earth and He who spread it

[ID] dan jiwa serta penyempurnaannya (ciptaannya),

[EN] And [by] the soul and He who proportioned it

[ID] maka Allah mengilhamkan kepada jiwa itu (jalan) kefasikan dan ketakwaannya.

[EN] And inspired it [with discernment of] its wickedness and its righteousness,

[ID] sesungguhnya beruntunglah orang yang mensucikan jiwa itu,

[EN] He has succeeded who purifies it,

[ID] dan sesungguhnya merugilah orang yang mengotorinya.

[EN] And he has failed who instills it [with corruption].

[ID] (Kaum) Tsamud telah mendustakan (rasulnya) karena mereka melampaui batas,

[EN] Thamud denied [their prophet] by reason of their transgression,

[ID] ketika bangkit orang yang paling celaka di antara mereka,

[EN] When the most wretched of them was sent forth.

[ID] lalu Rasul Allah (Saleh) berkata kepada mereka: ("Biarkanlah) unta betina Allah dan minumannya".

[EN] And the messenger of Allah [Salih] said to them, "[Do not harm] the she-camel of Allah or [prevent her from] her drink."

[ID] Lalu mereka mendustakannya dan menyembelih unta itu, maka Tuhan mereka membinasakan mereka disebabkan dosa mereka, lalu Allah menyama-ratakan mereka (dengan tanah),

[EN] But they denied him and hamstrung her. So their Lord brought down upon them destruction for their sin and made it equal [upon all of them].

[ID] dan Allah tidak takut terhadap akibat tindakan-Nya itu.

[EN] And He does not fear the consequence thereof.
